The M845 is an individual weapon-mounted night
vision sight designed for fast target acquisition and engagement. It
combines a dedicated night sight with a red dot and a wide field of
view. Particularly well-suited for close to intermediate targets, the
boresighted red dot is superimposed over the target. The M845 includes
Automatic Brightness Control.
The housing is high tensile metal and stands up to
a lot of abuse in the field. Controls are large and easily actuated
(even while wearing gloves). Operation is controlled with a simple
On/Off knob with three positions for reticle brightness control (dim,
medium, bright). The optic will accept several different mounting
interfaces.
The M845 is a very impressive optic. Its
integrated red dot reticle makes it one of the fastest dedicated night
vision weapon sights we have seen. It is relatively low profile, making
it especially suited to smaller weapons such as carbine-length rifles.
The Gen2 HP tubes have incredible resolution. And by
¡°incredible,¡± we
mean INCREDIBLE! In fact, one of the only noticeable differences in
image quality is the slight drop in gain in relation to a Gen3 unit.
Other than that, these tubes feature awesome clarity and are some of
the best-looking Gen2 HP tubes we have seen. These are a limited run
from Litton, so when they are gone, they are gone. If you are looking
for an affordable entry-level night vision device, look no further.
